Vice President of India inaugurates son-et-lumiere at Purana Quila, New Delhi

According to a PIB release, M. Hamid Ansari, Vice President of India today inaugurated ‘Ishq-e-Dilli’ son-et-lumiere (Sound and Light Show) - a project of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India - at Purana Quila. Kumari Selja, Union Minister for Tourism presided over the function and Sultan Ahmed, Minister of State for Tourism was the Guest of Honour.

The project has been conceived, financed and produced by the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) and executed by India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC). The multimedia ‘Ishq-e-Dilli’ utilises the technology similar to the ones being used in ‘Lights of Liberty’, Pennsylvania, US, the ‘Edfu Show’ at Pyramids of Gaza, Egypt. Keeping pace with the changing times and technology in the world, the Show promises to become a major tourist attraction. 

Ishq-e-Dilli depicts the spirit of Delhi through a lively narration of the ten cities of Delhi - the formation and resurrection of the city with its phoenix - like character. The narration begins from 11th century in the reign of Prithvi Raj Chauhan to the more recent and contemporary inclusion of the NCR and arrival of the Metro.
