Lufthansa Group airlines to offer 75 weekly flights from seven Indian destinations, effective October 29, 2010

Lufthansa Group airlines, Lufthansa Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) and Austrian Airlines, will offer a total of 75 weekly frequencies from seven Indian destinations to Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich and Vienna, effective October 29, 2010. 

Lufthansa will serve its Pune – Frankfurt route with four weekly frequencies, up from three currently. In addition, the carrier will deploy a larger A340-600 aircraft on its Chennai – Frankfurt route. This aircraft has about 80 additional seats compared to the A340-300 used currently. The larger aircraft will be operated on six days per week on this route, which continues to be served daily. 

SWISS will serve both its Indian routes, Delhi – Zurich and Mumbai – Zurich, with daily flights, up from six per week to Delhi and five per week to Mumbai currently. Austrian Airlines will also expand its presence in India with the addition of Mumbai to its global network. The carrier will offer five weekly flights connecting Mumbai with Vienna and the huge Eastern and Central European network of Austrian Airlines in the winter schedule.
