Kerala Tourism wins awards at New York Festivals 2011
According to a release, the film has already notched up over a dozen awards. Three Gold Medals at the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) international awards, a bronze at the Berlin Golden Gate Awards, a bronze at ABBY - Goafest, a silver at PEPPER, and a D&AD shortlist are a few to name. Latest in the burgeoning list is an award at the ongoing prestigious Prague International Advertising Festival 2011.
"Our aim was to break through the clutter and depict the destination in a different, yet true-to-life manner. I am happy that the global traveller as well as the creative fraternity sat up and took notice. The NYF recognition is very satisfying as it proves right our belief that every travel destination needs to constantly reinvent itself to stay relevant and meaningful to the evolving traveller,” said Venu V, Secretary, Kerala Tourism.
“This film set in a different mood marked a new and decisive moment in the marketing strategy of Kerala Tourism. The honours coming our way from the world over are indeed the recognition for this strategy," said M Sivasankar, Director, Kerala Tourism.
Swarup BR, creative director of the film said, “We had a first-hand experience of the impact of this three-minute film when we premiered it at the Saatchi Gallery in London to a very exclusive audience in September 2010. They were mesmerized – and in the next couple of months, 12 out of the 100 odd celebrity invitees holidayed in Kerala.”
