Kerala’s Mallapuram District to Get Digital Music and Video Systems at Major Tourist Spots
The Mallapuram District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) in Kerala has decided to install digital music and video systems in more than 50 tourist spots across the district. The system will start functioning soon at Kottakkunnu Tourism Park and Nila Heritage Park. The Padinharekara beach and Biyyam backwater tourism spot in Ponnani will too get the facility soon.
Apart from music and films, the tourism spots will also have special video game counters, according to a report in The Times of India. As part of the initiative, all the tourism spots will be brought under a single communication network handled by the common control room, which will be set up in the DTPC office.
Madhu Kainatt, Secretary, DTPC, said, “Visitors will be given security tips through the network, and promotional videos of the department will also be telecast. The new system is expected to attract more tourists to the spots.”
The project will be implemented with the support of private players. The DTPC has already invited proposals for installing the systems from private tour agencies across the state.
