JetLite to replace CRJ fleet with Boeing aircraft by September this year

According to a PTI report, Jet Airways has announced that it plans to return all of its leased CRJ aircraft being operated by its budget arm, JetLite, to lessor by September this year. Once the process is completed, JetLite will have an all-Boeing fleet. 

JetLite has also shown a strong turnaround in operating performance and it is achieving higher yields as compared to other low-fare operators. The company posted a net loss of Rs 467.64 crore for the Financial Year (FY) ending March 2010 as compared to Rs 402.34 crore registered during the previous fiscal. 

Total income of the firm reduced to Rs 10,622.92 crore in FY 10 from Rs 11,786.88 crore in the 2008-09 fiscal. It, however, posted a net profit of Rs 58.58 crore in Quarter Four of 2010 as against Rs 52.99 crore during the corresponding quarter of the year-ago period. 

The total income of the airline rose to Rs 2,877.17 crore in First Quarter of 2010 (January-March), from Rs 2,566.21 crore in the corresponding period last year.
