The Northern Railways is planning to provide on the New Delhi-Chandigarh Shatabdi Express an 8-inch LCD screen for each passenger seat in the Executive Class as well as the Chair Car. Passengers can choose from a bouquet of entertainment channels comprising Bollywood movies, songs, news channels and sports channels.

This would be the first train to be part of this unique infotainment initiative by the Northern Railways. Apart from the 80-odd television channels, passengers aboard the Shatabdi would also have the option to enjoy music from all over the world, as per a report in TOI by Abhijit Prashar.

Chandigarh railway station superintendent Praveen Kumar said, "The pilot project was started in March and would be extended to all Shatabdi trains starting from New Delhi from early October.''
