Delhi airport witnesses maximum VoAs issued for January - June, 2011

The Delhi airport witnessed the maximum number of tourists choosing to avail of the Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) scheme for the period Jaunary - June, 2011. A total of 3207 VoAs were issued at the Delhi airport, followed by Mumbai (1312), Chennai (984) and Kolkata (271) for the period.

According to a PIB report, tourists from New Zealand were the largest group of tourists to avail the scheme with a total 1195 tourists being issued VoAs in the period. New Zealand was closely followed by Japan with  1047 VoAs issued, while tourists from the Philippines numbered 962; Singapore, 891; Indonesia, 878; Finland, 611; Cambodia 69; Vietnam, 51; Myanmar, 36; and Luxembourg with 32 VoAs. However, only two tourists from Laos chose to avail of the facility for the period. A total number of 5774 VoAs were issued for the entire period.
