Bhondsi in Gurgaon all set to become next Ecotourism hotspot

The much-awaited 588-acre Ecotourism spot at Bharat Yatra Kendra in Bhondsi is set to become the next tourism destination in Gurgaon. With eco-lodges, tents and tree huts in a jungle-like ambience, ahead of Sohna Road, this will be the second such place in the city after Dundahera Camping site.

According to a report in The Times of India, the state forest and environment ministry has sanction Rs 10.42 crore for development of several spots on the lines of nature camps at Thapali, Lal Munia Rest House and Morni fort in Panchkula district.

The Kendra was once used as a farmhouse by former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar. The farmhouse was slated to be developed as an Ecotourism site for the Commonwealth Games 2010. However, the work couldn't be completed due to a fund crunch. The earlier plan was to convert the existing main building at the Kendra into a guest house.
