Air service from Delhi to European countries affected due to heavy snowfall
According to a report in The Times of India, a flight for Europe was called off and at least six flights were delayed today from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport due to heavy snowfall in the region.
The delays that stayed for more than four hour saw air service providers such as Lufthansa and British Airways flights getting delayed. According to an official spoke person, “The change in weather was rather sudden this year as such heavy snow normally falls around mid-December or January. Airports were not prepared but still managed to organise things in time. Several flights, including Air India took off on time from Delhi since the weather here is clear but it is anyone's guess whether they would be able to land or not.”
As per the situation, passengers travelling to Europe in coming few days have been asked to keep a watch over weather conditions.
